I did a google on Horse Stall Mats and could not believe what some were selling for. I bought mine from Tractor supply. I have used 1/2" and 3/4". I think 3/8" would also work well. I would use a minimum of 1/4". I could not find the 1/2" on their site. As I recall, I paid $20 for a 4 ft. x 6 ft. sheet. This stuff is heavy, but so is a TC. only you can decide if its weight is excessive for your application.
4 ft. x 6 ft. x 3/4 in. Thick Rubber Stall Mat Product price $34.99. That would put you at about $70 for a 8 ft. x 6 ft. bed.
This would also be a good choice, RB Rubber Multi-Mat Rolled Rubber, 3/8 in. Thick, Sold by the Foot Product price $7.99. If I understand correctly, that would be $64 for eight feet. In the Q&A, it says glue the matting with Master Bond 941 adhesive. If the product comes from Oregon the product is 2 lb. per foot (12 total). If the product comes from Ohio it will be 2.44 lb. per foot (14.64 total).
