Ok, I had one of the guys at the electrical engineering forum point their hacked E4 FLIR camera at several propane tanks and it clearly shows the level of propane. The one on the left is only 20% full, the other two are full but the one on the right had been in the sun so is hot. It would only work if the propane had been in use recently or if you put hot water on the outside. Still very cool...wish I could justify buying one of the cameras now that we know how to hack the *cheap* ones to the level of the expensive ones.
