What is the little red LED light on the Tank Monitor Panel

I had occasion to remove the RV Tank Sensor Monitor Panel M25 | KIB from the wall and disconnect the wires. In doing so I discovered a tiny red LED light located between the electric and gas activator...

Mine works this way, though my gas ignition switch is separate from my panel. Others' mileage may vary.
