What is this? 2012 Ram 2500 rubber mounted bar......

Does anybody know what this is or the purpose of it? It is the rusty piece in the photo. It is mounted in rubber at either end and will twist back and forth quite easily. It seems heavy as well??? ...

Yes, that is for NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness reduction). It acts as a damper to reduce harmonics! Those are in a lot of cars. Some are hidden behind panels. Some are mounted to exhaust systems, others to transmissions (I have one on the end of my transfer case!).
