The OP didn't say what year her BMW is. She might want to check etrailer.com to make sure a 2" receiver hitch is available for that specific vehicle.
And perhaps call a shop where a hitch can be installed. And make sure the right wiring setup can be installed for lights and signals, brakes and breakaway switch.
It might be a more expensive job than the OP wants to pay for.
It's do-able. (I met a couple last year that tows a home-built pop up with a Corvette). I just wonder if the OP is going to be happy with any of the very limited choices.
