We parked on the dock along side the USS Hornet in Alameda for a night.
After touring the Hornet for more than 4 hours the last thing I wanted to do was drive out of the Oakland area at 5 pm. Most everyone else was gone so we decided to stay put where we'd parked earlier that day. All was well until around 9 pm when a security guard came with lights flashing & politely informed us we could not stay there overnight. A second security person in charge of a "different territory" arrived as we were preparing to leave and invited us to park along side the Hornet for the night! We relocated about half a mile away with the lights of San Fransisco in our view. What a deal. Got an early start the next morning and all was good.
