We have a 60 gallon fresh water tank, 40 gallon gray tank and 40 gallon black tank. The gray tank always fills up first. If I could have anything I wanted in another trailer it would be a combined tank for gray and black. If the fresh water tank is 60 gallons, then the combined holding tank would be 60 gallons. I wonder why the gray and black are always separate? I always dump both in the same sewer line.
I can't speak to the motives of the trailer manufacturers, but I would hate that design.
We dry camp often and fill/empty our gray tank about every other day and use a tote to take it to a dump station. We can go a week or more without emptying the black tank, especially when we pee in the woods.
I don't want to have to worry about using a tote for black water.
