Well, for anyone still following this ongoing saga, we've decided to move forward with ... drum roll please ... the Rockwood Roo 23SS. The biggest thing we wanted in this upgrade was more kitchen space for food prep. I personally was starting to like the IKSS, but it wasn't a "must have" for me ... and towards the end my wife shied away from it a bit too.
Plus, the 23SS is in stock at rvwholesalers.com (the IKSS would need to be ordered), and with our current (soon-to-be previous) camper selling so quickly, we wanted to get something we could hit the road with sooner rather than later.
Here's the thing ... considering how well our existing 21SS held its value with a strong sale price when we put it on the market, and considering the heckuva deal we get through rvwholesalers.com on the new camper, the last eight years of using the 21SS essentially amounts to "renting" the camper for about $775 per year. So we don't necessarily see the 23SS as a long-term camper. We might just keep it for a few years, sell it, and upgrade again. If we can follow the same formula as we did this time, there won't be a lot of money lost ... just a few years of "renting" again! :-)
