What's the best in between the bed & camper padding?

I'll be putting my camper back on the truck in a bit & wonder if there are some things better than others in between? Wood? Rubber? Carpet? I doubt carpet due to mold? Then again wood mig...

That is the thickness of my DeeZee rubber bed mat. I placed it on top of my LineX spray in liner. Have never had a problem with the camper shifting on rough 4wd roads. Highly recommend.
