What's your guess?

2300 before he's put the first item in it.

I have a 2006 lance 815 model 1620 lbs.(dry) I carry it fully loaded on a 1/2 ton toyota/tundra. get roughly 13 miles per gal. dont even know its back there half the time!

Take a moment and think about this 1/2 ton truck, at what weight do you consider weight becoming the biggest hazard with this truck?

At what point does a good 3/4 ton diesel begin paying for itself just in counting mileage costs alone?!. At some point the better truck becomes a free truck and even a savings account in the long run. This just fuel/ mileage cost alone. Right?

Now considering the marginal safety at best with this 1/2 ton..... it seems there's no use whatsoever to keep talking about this truck. Who would consider such a thing when a diesel truck would pay for 4 of them things easily:@:B

Didn't have anything to do with being judgmental in my eyes. The 1,300 lbs stamped on the camper was claimed as the top of the dry load limit this person would want to take on. And the conversation was more guided towards when does the stamp for 1,300 lbs not really mean 1,300 lbs. I would suspect that anyone new to camping in a camper would rely on the stamp being accurate when the camper was pick up ready. Many of us don't believe this is the case.

Better to be judgemental than listen to the friend whine about how much he hates hauling the camper around, problems with his truck from being 1000lbs+ overloaded, etc..

If a manufacture lists 1300 dry weight, it is probably 1300 dry weight by their definition of dry weight. My WAG is the OP is being judgmental of this "friend".

I went and checked my weight reports. My "dry" 1090# pop-up weighs 1600-1800 pounds depending on how much gear I am taking and whether or not I've removed the jacks.

My GUESS is ....... 2100#(loaded weight that is. Unloaded about 1700).

Question was posed more to see where you guys think the real weight is relative to the posted weight. Looks like there are some believers out there. The rest of us are clearly skeptics that think that posted weight is before they put a single fixture, tank or matress in it. BTW, my guess was 1,700 - 1,800 before a single personal belonging would be added.
