Wheel bearings

Agree with djgarcia...a little PM can save a lot latter.

IMO you might be playing a dangerous game of Russian wheel bearing Roulette since more often than not the amount of grease from the factory is woefully lacking. I do however agree that yearly wheel bearing service is not really needed. I hesitate giving a recommendation since almost the yearly servicing seems to be the party line and I can't provide any reputable different service interval reference.

Truck and trailer bearings are different. The comparison is a poor one for service intervals. I believe servicing the bearings every two years or so is adequate and that gives an owner a chance to inspect/adjust brakes as well.

I have my bearings repacked every 2 years and they also check the brakes for wear. I replace my tires every 5 years regardless how the tires look. I replace the batteries every 5 years. I prefer prevention as opposed to repairs and dealing with breakdowns on the road. Just what works for me after 40 yrs. of RVing.
