Wheel capacity vs tire capacity
I'm looking to upgrade my stock tires to the Cooper ST that has a 4080 lb rating. This should cover my needs, but it seems most stock wheels aren't rated that high. I'm sure many people are running ...

From the factory? If so, I'd say those wheels are spec'd to hold that much.
Aftermarket tires? I don't think the tire manufacturer cares to call up the wheel manufacturer to consult..nor do they care.
They are not liable for a wheel failure...
Same reasoning if I blow my engine and Cummins tells me to pound sound due to my tuning...
