When do you stop?

The wife and I have been looking for a replacement for our starcraft 18sb hybrid.

It started out simple we were looking at a keystone passport, next thing I know we're looking at a tracer, then the laredo and lacrosse, now we're looking at freedom express. Where did you draw the line and why. I like the coachmen but is it worth the extra cost? Do I go back to the passport, and why am I putting so much time into this. Today I drove 2 hours one way with the wife and kids just to look at a trailer. I think I'm starting to lose perspective.

Don't worry, you will start looking for your next about a year later, LOL

This is what I'm trying to avoid.

We spent 4 months looking. Its kinda like a wife, When you find the right one you will know.

The problem with that is 50% of the time you'll be wrong ;)
  • Good to know I'm not alone in my insanity, I can't keep all the trailers we've looked at in order. I think brand X had this and brand y had that but apparently I was wrong for both of them.

I'm getting a little disturbed at the pricing differences between the US and canada on some models, a lot are close but some are crazy apart to the tune of $8000 for the same trailer. Makes the 1 hour drive to buffalo look good.
  • You stop at the max tow capacity :B
As long as you each have a place to sleep you will be fine.

  • We looked at a bunch of trailers over a couple of months feeling pretty over whelmed with all the choices. Don't know how many we walked through. Finally we walked into a dealer with three fields of trailers and said I want this and I don't want that. He excused himself for a little bit and came back with a list of 3 that fit my list. We bought one of those three. We have made minor changes to fine tune it more to our needs. Something's you don't realize until you are actually living in it. I will probably pull the couch for two chairs at some point just because I'm not a big couch fan but it's what we need at this time.

Good luck and don't overthink it. There will always be the next one, to get it right :)

I think if you think you have gone over board that in fact you have.

If you have spent a couple of weeks and looked at 15 to 20 rigs then you most likely have done enough to figure out which one to get.

There is always buyers remorse and you can expect to

    have it.

No. There is not "always" buyers remorse. If you take the time, do your homework and do not settle for less than you wanted there will be no remorse. In 61 years I have yet to experience buyers remorse and that covers a lot of vehicles and boats.
  • LOL....Oh how I understand your thinking.

We had not mentioned buying an RV until one day hubby said...I think we need to give up the tent, LOL. Those words were the start of a 5 week journey. We had no idea what we wanted...a class A, B, C, or a fifth wheel, truck camper or TT. The fifth wheel was eliminated as we had bought a new avalanche the month earlier. For 5 weeks we went every day ( hubby had put his hand through a table saw and was/is off work) every day! All over southern Ontario. Roadtrek (made down the road) no good hubby too tall. Anyway we finally chose a TT only to change our mind at the last minute for another.

    Do your homework!

When you see something you like, stop looking, you will only confuse yourself.
