Just know the old nomenclature of 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton doesn't mean much anymore.
My 2010 F150 Super Crew Cab, has the max tow package. Still referred to as a 1/2 ton truck. But payload capacity is 1810 lbs, towing 11,100 lbs.
I've put a 900 lb golf cart in the bed (notice LACK of squat), and towed a 25' TT weighing 4000 lbs empty, maybe 5K loaded.
Not all trucks are created equal. Do some research first, including visiting forums related to that vehicle towing. If something doesn't work, you'll read about it there first!
