Where did you take your TC this weekend?

I stayed close to home, but still got to stay at one of my favorite places and did not have to fight traffic to get there!

  • I think mine moved back about an inch or so as it slid into the back of the truck for the first time this year.

Not much traffic here either. Went over by Rimrock this weekend. Came home yesterday...

Was it busy at Rimrock? We were going to go there but decided to go to Tucannon instead and it was insane!
  • Been nowhere, TC is in the garage where it's been since fall. Farming and haying are more important right now. Maybe in s few weeks barring bad weather.
  • The Memorial weekend was the start of a two week business/fun trip for me and the boss. When I retired a few months ago I vowed to keep the boss (who is still happily working) off of airplanes as much as possible. Of course, the first trip she needed to take after I retired was to Hawaii, so I sucked it up and tagged along. Now she needs to visit clients in the upper Midwest, so we’ve loaded up the camper and the cats and head out from Little Rock.

We spent a night at Horseshoe Lake SP in southern IL, another night at the former mobile home park next to the deactivated Chanute AFB that now belongs to the city of Rantoul, IL. Not much going on there, but I thought this was interesting. A dismantled C97 that I believe used to be on static display here. The C97 was a derivative of the B29 and B50 program.

Yesterday we were in Oak Park, IL to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio.

We found a shady spot on the street just a few blocks away to park.

There are also a couple dozen FLW designed homes within walking distance nearby. Keep in mind that these homes are all about 100 years old.

    One of my personal fav’s.

And of course, the obligatory cat picture. This is the position Selina has been taking up when I stop for fuel. I guess she gets a better view up there.

    :):)
  • We were in Zion for the beginning of the weekend, left after the weekend warriors showed up and camped in the National forrest outside Grand Canyon for a night. Last night, tonight and tomorrow we are in the North Rim campground which has been amazingly quiet. The North rim of the Grand Canyon is a treat. Not open all year but far less tourists and noise.

    No fair! I said, "weekend"!

Us mere mortals only had 3 days!

    Beautiful pictures!

Camped out near Petersville Alaska, just south of Denali.
