Where do you put your levels?

I was at the store today and picked up a couple of those bubble levels. I know on the TT I had one above the tongue jack and another on the side at the front corner. Wheres the best place to put them on the TC?

  • I have a couple of cheap bubbles levels attached to the driver side rear corner of the camper. They are stuck on with double sided tape that has held for over 10 years. I suppose levels on pretty much any outside corner would work. I picked the left rear location because it is closed to where my wired jack motor controller plugs in.

    This is the right way...

    Works for me too.
  • I levelled the truck& camper combo with a torpedo level, and then stuck the bubble levels onto the bottom of the cabover, so I can just pull in to a site, open the sunroof, and see how close we are. After using this method for several years now, I can tell by the position of the bubbles just how many blocks I need. This of course relies on having a sunroof.
Now when I clean the windshield at fill up time I also have to clean the sunroof.

  • We usually place a small 8" Torpedo level on the floor, countertop, rear patio, etc. to level (all these locations just happen to be level with each other). Where we place it depends on what's convenient at the time (have a wireless jack remote). Have used the level in our iPhone on occasion, but we've found the Torpedo is a tad more convenient for us.

  • Driver side, one on front (so I can see it in mirror) and one on driver side side panel.

The new truck also has a pretty cool “off road” gauge that shows fore/aft and side/side angle right on the dashboard!
  • We have also been using the level app on our phone for a couple of years now.
  • Used those levelers for years, but they are clumsy.
So when I found level app for my android, the bubble level on it become my favorite.
Not all the things in camper are parallel to floor, so good idea to compare calibration the 1st time.
  • I carry bubble levels and keep them in a drawer near the back door. To level I put it on the floor next to the door.
  • Burb, I just carry a torpedo level in an outer compartment, pull into the site, open the compartment, check front to back level then check the level side to side on the back bumper, experience tells me how many leveler blocks where and I’m done.
