Looking for a USED Electric Trailer Dolly.Being where I live & plan to store my trailer I'm not likely to get anything of a decent size if I have to back it in while connected to a truck.( Part of why I'm not getting a 5th wheel )I basically have a 90 degree turn I need to make & the neighbors fence is directly across from my driveway.So whats the best way to enter a search for a used Electric tow dolly & where besides Craigslist would you recommend?Once I clean the back yard of my current toys I'll go rent a 30 foot TT & try to back it in & see how much trouble it will be or if I might be able to go bigger or if I will have to go smaller?I will NOT PAY for storing of the trailer.

I had a power caster dolly about 12 yrs ago to move our 32' TT.There was plenty of power because the motor is geared down to a very low speed.On blacktop it worked perfectly. One time I tried it on the grass and it worked ok on dry grass with hard packed soil. If the soil was soft and/or wet it would just spin the wheels on the mover. Also, most dolly manufacturers sell "off-road" versions with aggressive tread tires.My dolly had a switch you could hook to the trailer brakes to activate them with a switch. Don't even consider using a dolly without a means to activate the trailer brakes. My driveway had a very slight incline. The dolly worked fine, but if you tried stopping without the trailer brakes, sometimes the trailer would just push the dolly (even thought he dolly tires were locked).I moved out to the country and sold mine to a fellow forum member.There are online sites that will search all the craigslist sites in an area that you specify. I have used this often and it works well. The one I used is www.searchtempest.comSteve

If you ARE looking for a "used" trailer dolly then CRAIGSLIST OR EBAY IS YOU BEST AND ONLY PLACES TO LOOK.Craigslist, you NEED to open up your search area by using the NEXT nearest locations listed, then move out a bit further, then further out and so on. It is how I find antique autos and parts.YES, it is a pain to have to MANUALLY SEARCH CL but that IS the "way it is done" there. Not to mention you are looking for an EXTREMELY expensive doodad that does only ONE JOB that nearly no one is willing to pop for them even used.So, if you can't find it used on CL or EBAY then it simply is not going to happen.If you really want one, you most likely WILL have to shell out the money for a NEW ONE.Personally, those things are not the safest things, most are only designed for FLAT TOWING AND ON PAVEMENT (cement, blacktop), most do not even have any brake control.. Yeah, some folk have bought em, doesn't mean they are a good idea.Consider having a hitch put on the FRONT of your tow vehicle, allows you to make extremely tight turns and you have the safety of the four wheels of your vehicle plus you could make an extension for the trailer plugin which would allow your vehicle to control the trailer brakes.

Overtons sells the manual crank one you posted. Just have to check the weight limit. Most manual crank ones are only good for 5K.

Yeah that about what I figured & why I was thinking electric.
