Where is there beach camping in the Northeast?

I am looking for places to go camping right on the beach. I have all the equipment to lower my tires and get out there but don't know where to go except for race point up on cape cod. Any more information would be helpful.
  • The west jetty of Charlestown Breach way but you need to get a permit.
  • Sandy Neck in Sandwich MA is fantastic.........

Horseneck Beach Campground in Westport MA....next to the beach but not on it.
  • To find Beaches to Drive on in Mass, goto the Mass Beach Buggy Assoc. web page. Don't bother with Plum Island the permit process is a joke.

There is also beaches in RI I lost the info when my lap top crashed a few years ago I'm sure a google search would help.

There is also Montuck on Long Island which has 4 or 5 beaches
  • Look into Assategue VA they camp all along the outer beaches down the Delaware VA Maryland Coast

Rhode Island, correct? Have you been there recently?

We used to 4x4 on the beach at East Beach / Ninigret State Park. It has been years (decades more accurately) since I've been out there. The last time I went, they had closed off the beach itself due to some bird... so you could 4x4 only on the sand tracks, not the beach. I don't know what you can do these days.
  • Salisbury Beach MA. and you take your dogs on the beach with you.
But it's right there next to the beach. With hook-ups.

There is a state beach in Westerly RI. that you can drive and camp right on. (Made for truck campers) No services.

Charlestown Breechway RI. is like Salisbury, not right on the beach, but right there. No dogs on this beach. No Services
