where's the converter?

Camping with our cousins and they had a loss of power beginning last night draining the battery. Have good power to the camper but nothing inside. Was told that the converter may be out but we can not find it. It is a 1998 prowler 31G with bunks. Any help on the location or other possible ideas of theproblem?

You do need to charge the battery. You can use jumper cables from a working RV 12 volt system. You can use a portable battery charger, but set it on 12 volts not the 'start' or boost position. Most portable chargers that have a 'start' mode say to only leave in the start mode for a maximum of 30 seconds followed by a 15 minute cooling off time.

Even a 10 amp charger will fully charge the battery overnight, giving that you might be using 4-5 amps each hour to run lights.

    Good luck,

  • Usually behind the breaker panel. I hope someone has a vom.
  • look around the floor area theres a cover looks like a heat register it should be behind that, , also follow the electric cord into the rv, should be on the other side close .
