Not with an Equal-i-zer you can't, he'll need a new head as well so it would be better to just sell the 600 and buy a complete new 1000 ... if he had a Blue Ox Sway Pro he could upgrade by just changing the spring bars.
Yep, been there, done that, with Equal-i-zer hitches when we went from a pop-up to a much heavier TT.
The Blue Ox Sway Pro wasn't in the equation back then. Although I am quite happy with my Equal-i-zer hitch. Just that I had to purchase the second entire hitch assembly.
