My 2 cents: why use the lighter WDH and always have that nagging worry in the back of your mind that you might damage the hitch. Get the heavier one and have peace of mind every time you load up for camping, knowing that you can't overload it. I ran the 10K/1K Equal-i-zer with a 4000 lb (loaded) trailer and about 600 lbs hitch weight, and it didn't seem rough riding to me. Although I will say that I've also used an Andersen No-Sway and both the ride and the ease of use were a bit more pleasant; after handling the bars with grease (around the L brackets), the lightweight, clean chains seemed more enjoyable to deal with.
