Which is better and why??

Hi to All, Would like some opinions on which you recomend and why?Thinking about a small Winnebago or Lance trailer. Want to use it for overnight stays, a few times a month. Mostly boondocking. Thanks in advance. Oh yes, forgot to mention year round use in NJ, NY, etc. Les

  • I do own a 2014 Minnie Winnie 2101DS and really like it. The quality, fit and finish is very good. We just returned from a 900 mile round trip to the Texas gulf coast. We spent 5 days in it and all went very well. It is just the 2 of us and 1 small dog. If we had 3 kids and a big dog it wouldn't be so comfortable. I do like having full hookups because the two 25 gallon holding tanks fill up pretty fast.

Don't own a Lance but have read a lot of good stuff about them. Winni, I don't know.
  • buying any RV is a cr@p shoot. making it a winnie lessens the risk IMHO. does either the winnie or lance have a rubber roof? if so , get the other one.

  • I had a Winnebago MinnieWinnie and was unhappy with the quality. For the best 4 season trailer, look at Northwoods Mfg or Lance like you already are.
  • I am one of the 7.3 % that believe a 9200 GVW duramax towing a 7280 # GVW 21T Komfort non-slide trailer is the best compromise .
I made that choice a dozen years ago and it fits .
    Immediately prior I had a 36 foot diesel pusher , a 26 foot slideout trailer , and a 16 foot Nomad 1661 trailer .
My best friend tows a 29 foot fancy 5th wheel with a Powerstroke , and our other close camper buddy uses a huge cabover camper on a new 4 door duramax long box pickup.
We are best friends and none of us would change our camper .
  • Winnebago trailer or motor home? For year round use, you need a four season trailer, which rules out smaller Winnebago trailers. I think Lance makes a 4 season trailer....so you will have to do some research.
  • Hi.. Opinion on what? Campers are mostly in what layout you want and quality...

Boon docking how many days? Access to dumps or water?

    Winter camping?

    Whats your tow vehicle?

    Kids?

Its really an open ended question...
