Which LED brand for C922 wedge bulb style

The outside security light on our travel trailer burned out. The part number on the bulb says C922. I assume that is a standard 922 bulb, I'm not sure what "C" means????? Anyway, I wanted to replace it with a LED. I went to amazon and found a few LED bulbs that are a 922 replacement. It seems the reviews are mixed and some people are not having much success with some of the LEDs. Does anyone have a brand that they recommend? Or should I stick with the traditional halogen bulb? Thanks for the help.
  • 921 and 922 Halogen bulbs are the same size and fit the same socket, the difference is brightness. I might be mistaken but I believe the 921 are the higher wattage, but wattage is not really relevant if you are going to LED....lumen and color temp matters in LEDs.

I recently did a 100% conversion to LEDs. I primarily used 280 lumen 4000-4500 natural white color temp LEDs purchased from amazon. I did also use some 190 lumen version from the same supplier. I am very pleased.

The 280 I used both inside and for the exterior porch light ...

this doesn't answer your question about the C922 bulb but might be a good time to replace your outside light fixture for one of these STARLIGHT 1000 motion detector lights. I installed my motion detector light before these came out and it is really nice having the porch light come on when someone walks up...
Works good on four legged animals as well... Never know what might be lurking outside your front door...

That's not a bad idea. A motion light would come in handy. Thanks for the idea.

    'C' means constantly on.

Thanks, that's good to know. I suppose the standard bulb would burn out faster, hence the need for the "C". I went ahead and picked up a replacement today at the auto parts store, but I might start looking for a "C" bulb at an RV store sometime in the near future.

I just purchased the SL motion detector porch light for $39.00 from PPL. Going to install it this afternoon. Changing out all of my lights to LEDs and thought this was a good upgrade. Let you know later

If possible, give us a before and after pic.
