My brothers Schwintek has failed and failed again. Last time the top of the slide went out further than the bottom. It looked like the slide was going to fall out of the trailer. All tracks and motor had to be replaced. Schwinteck paid for the parts but he was out $700 labor. Time will tell for him but I certainly will never have a Schwintek.
Had some issues with mine. I lubricated everything I could and they started going in straight again. Regardless, if it were up to me (& not my wife) would buy a trailer without slides, they are problems waiting to happen. - Craig_AExplorerAnmacc2, you're right, it is a hilarious thread. Lot's of advice even though the subject remains unknown.
- Anmacc2ExplorerVery interesting thread! I don't think anyone has a clue what the OP is asking and yet here we are chit chatting... I don't like slides on the passenger side of the unit. I find most CG sites aren't designed for them. I might feel differently if we boondocked more. I'm also feeling conflicted about power awnings. I like the convenience but they don't work as well as the old manual ones. They're just not as stable. Now an electric jack! Yeah I like that. Power steps not so much. But I digress... What were we talking about?
- janechucknicodeExplorerThis is my second Keystone with Cable drive slides.. Great and easy to work with.
One piece of thought, never give advice.. so just keep up the maintanence and DO NOT OIL THEM!
Just watch the adjustments.

- Community AlumniI prefer hydraulic but I have also had a couple Schwintek slides and have never had an issue with them.
- DutchmenSportExplorerMaybe the OP is asking about multiple slides, does one stand out (extend) further than another one on the same trailer. If this is the intent, the answer is "yes".
You could have 4 slides on the same camper and all 4 could be different depth's, meaning they all 4 extend outward from the trailer a different length. - Pop-Pop_CExplorerMost all work in the beginning!
Stay away from schwintech!!!!!!!! ,
It is not if the fail, it is when!!! - TrackrigExplorer II

Please elaborate. I have no idea what you're asking.
I think he means electric vs hydraulic vs maybe chain drive, and then again maybe he means brand??????
