Is the trucks rear sagging ?
Is the truck dedicated for the truck camper or does it do other hauling/towing duties ?? - sleepyExplorersheriff Doug,
I won't make a recommendation for a specific truck brand... I have actual experience with the question about suspension add-ons for a 1 ton truck.
I think that it is important to listen to people with actual experience.
I had the same question 10 years ago... and many people have asked similar questions here on the forum since.
In 2002 I knew that I was going to use airbags to "balance" my load.
I had them installed, knowing that I might add more springs or other modifications after I tried the airbags... I wanted to make one change at a time (just like in my job... in scientific experiments you make one change at a time... if you make two changes at the same time you'll never know which one works or even if one makes things worse.)
So, with only the addition of airbags that I inflate with a high quality manual bicycle pump to as much as 100 psi.
Wow! they worked, and they worked so well that now we have hauled our camper in 48 states and most of Canada over 1007 days and nights... and countless day trips here in east Tennessee. A total of 66,000 miles.
And there is no sway....
Thats the only suspension modification that I've ever made. There is no reason to over do equipment or engineering.
My cardiologist approves the bicycle pump... once or twice a year I get 3 minutes of exercize.
I hope that this line of reasoning helps you plan your course of action.

Experience counts: Beware of a man that tells you how it feels to have a baby... - jimh406Explorer IIIStable Loads or extended bump stops, sway bar, airbags, max/correct tire pressure, and shocks. NOTE: Adding airbags without extended bump stops can make you have more sway.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIYou've got the payload with the DRW
Agree..Stableloads & BETTER shocks
Bilsteins probably 5100 series - portscannerExplorerMy Alpenlite is > 4K lbs. Stableloads and better shocks.
