Almost all of our married life we've had multiple dogs...as low as 2 and as high as 10 and, yes, they're indoor dogs. We killed off more vacuums than I can even begin to count. The last one we bought about 10 years ago and it's an Oreck XL21. Seems like it was in the $700 bracket, but considering how many dead $200 one we had, decided to give it a try. The dealer services it at no charge every year for 21 years. It does not have attachments, but I bought a small canister type - around $35 at Walmart for small areas, furniture, etc. It's very lightweight. Both the good news and the bad news is that it does require bags, but they're large, hold enough hair to make another dog and I was tired of emptying bagless canisters and having dirt and hair going everywhere. We have yet to have any problems with it. When the dealer is done servicing, the entire vacuum looks like brand new, including the inside of the housing. Great product.
