CALIFORNIA:
Important "FYI" for MDTs:
(Just *some* of the "can of worms")
*Who Must Stop at Scales*
Read carefully - then....scroll down to -
"Do These Vehicles Have to Stop at Scales"
See discussion on "PICKUP".
Especially GVWR, flat bed and/or utility body!.;)
Note - there is *no* exception for towing an RV.
However, if the scales are busy - no stop may work out OK.
Out-of-state may work out OK also.....but do you look like a hot shot driver delivering a 5th to a dealer?
In CA scales are run by the CHP.
