- wcjeepExplorerI had to add 19.5" wheels/tires and Torklift Stable Loads. Hauls it great.
- BedlamModeratorWe have an Arctic Fox 811 on a Ford F-250. It handles it well, but I had to extra suspension and heavier rated wheels due to the trailer I tow.
- jimh406Explorer IIILots of people have them. I carried my camper without mods to Montana and back which is over mtns and about 1000 miles. I didn't have to mod, but I did primarily to give tires more strength. A drw wouldn't work for me since my truck was my daily driver. There's really no point for me to buy a drw at this point. I have the mods in my signature.
I haven't weighed my truck with camper in years. The camper is tagged 3571. I believe I'm generally about 12000 if I remember right for a rig that was rated for 11400.
Keep in mind that not all srw and not all drw are the same. I'm certain my srw will out haul older drw 350 or 3500s.
Finally, you can gain more capacity with a gas engine since it is lighter, and a supercab is better for just weight than a cc. The worst is a short bed cc. - jpares89ExplorerA buddy of mine has a 34ft Wildwoods by Forest river with 2 slide outs. Tows it behind his 02 dodge 2500 diesel single wheel with the bed full of gear no problem. I've also towed behind my 03 ford F350 diesel single wheel no problem. A weight distribution hitch with load bars is key.
- idaho_camperExplorerI have one. 2009 Arctic Fox 811 on a 2003 F350 LB CC V10. Love the truck, love the camper. Hauls it fine. Have never wished I had a dually. I have nothing against a dually, I just don't need one.
- DianneOKExplorerWe have the rig in my sig. No, don't want a dually...do grades all the time, we live on a mountain. Last weigh was fully loaded with 350# extra 13 031#
This rig works great no problems, more than enough power, good fuel mileage, handles the weight with no sway, squatting or bounce....
