I was going to do something like this, but at wal mart I saw this heavy duty adjustable rack for $20, it's awesome. Still room to hang 6-8 shirts without smashing them, and tons of space for clothes on the rack. There was even some room left at the bottom for shoes. Couldn't be easier or more efficient.
