Have had Ford and GM diesels since 2006. Never an indication of water. I use Stanadyne every tank.
As an aside, for those of you who are questioning the OP about the fuel filter, Chev diesels are a different breed of cat from Ford...I feel like I've died and gone to heaven after owning a Ford 6.0....just drive it and forget it, not like the old 2006 Ford!.
