I'll regurgiate what I have said many times here on RV.net. My filter only gets drained when I change it. It is only changed when I see a pressure drop and not by mileage. Almost 190,000 miles now. I use only the best OEM housing filters available which are the Baldwin PF7977 or Hastings FF1260 which is a rebadged Baldwin PF7977.
