I drove diesel (multi-fuel) military trucks in the mid '60s, in Hawaii and Vietnam. Never had a water-in-fuel problem, whether burning diesel or gasoline.
Since then, I have put a few miles on various Dodge CTD trucks, 3/4 tons and a 1 ton dually, in all kinds of weather, all temperatures from 20 below zero to around 100 degrees.
No water-in-fuel problems.
Just lucky, I guess...
