Who makes a folding trailer with only one bed?

I'm posting this for a co-worker. She says she has seem some small folding trailers with only one slide out bed. I asked if they roof was solid or cloth and she thinks it's a solid roof like most popups. Does anybody know who makes such a popup?

Thanks

  • Thanks for the suggestions, It might have been the Coachmen that Dog Folks linked. I found it interesting though when going through their lineup that some of the Coachmen with two beds were lighter than the single bed models.
  • Maybe the slide out bed she remembers is a gaucho sofa bed? I have a slide out sofabed in my Flagstaff A-Frame and the dining area bench seats also turn into a bed.
  • I understand the need/desire for a smaller unit but I have to agree with the previous post regarding using the 'extra' bunk for storage when set up. With just the 2 of us that bunk easily holds all the stuff carried on the floor while traveling: clothes bags, boxes of food, ice chest, cooking utensils, etc.
  • Dog Folks nailed it... the Coachmen 104GS and 904GS are probably what she meant. Hard roof popup with just one tented pull-out bed, instead of two.

As an interesting alternative, this year Palomino offers a popup with NO pull-out bed, the Basecamp 14ULC. Either the U-dinette or the sofa could be used as a bed. With the electric roof lift and no trays to mess with, this pup could be pretty convenient to set up.

Personally, I've been eyeing both the 14ULC and the Rockwood/Flagstaff A frames. The former would be nicer for the great window views all around the unit, the latter would be nicer for keeping out the elements as well as wind noise while sleeping.
  • But, really - PUPs have lots of bed space and not a lot of storage space. Our first Pup was a 10 foot pup with a king and a small double. We had two small kids and they took turns on the bunk end/converted table. Basically the pup was all bed. Then there was that first time when our kids were teens and and both away at camps. We took our pup out and suddenly we had a dining room table, which was nice, but even better - a nice sized ledge for all our stuff. Your friend might appreciate the extra bed. It isn't like you save anything on towing length by having a one sided pup.
  • Aliners can have just one bed (or two if you fold down the dinette table into one). Those simalar to them would be the same. However, the bed is not a slide out (no slides); everything is under the hard A frame roof on these. No cloth sides, etc.

    Solid roof. Coachman makes one.

  • I've seen the tented ones; back in the 80s Coleman made one. Haven't seen any hard-sided ones, though, except for the A-frame style ones (Aliner and Chalet). The others I have seen do have hard tops like regular popups. Not sure among current brands who makes them.
