Who makes campers without slides? Saw Jayco 26BH. 25'+?

Wife and I are buying 1st camper this year. We will not buy a camper with slides. Saw Jayco 26BH and like layout. Any other suggestions on 25-28' campers without slides? Bunks are ideal as we got two small kids and German shepherd. The Jayco I saw was Jay Flight SLX 264 BHW.

Also, how does Jayco compare with other brands? Very little insights as this is our first camper.

What are the best brands. We want a high quality camper. Price is not main priority. Want no slides, above 25 feet, and bunk beds for kids ideally.

Thanks for any insights.

  • 2 small kids and a German shepherd?! I can tell you from experience with the exact same setup, kids, shepherd 2 adults and a 26 ft TT, that a TT without slides will get old after your first couple of nights in it!

Just curious why you don't want a TT with slides?
  • I too like the idea of the "enclosed box" without any slides. I have a travel trailer not available (Eclipse RV Manufacturing model 24LSBHG) in your neck of the woods so I won't recommend it. I took it on a coast to coast trip two years ago and we saw all kind of wind and rain when we hit the Southern U.S.

No leaks ever! BTW-there seems to be an on going topic(s) on this forum about twisted frames with slides, misaligned slides, leaks with slides, gears going out, motors going out,etc.-not saying they are all like that but if you can eliminate the problems from the beginning (by not getting one) it seems to make sense

    Good luck on your search!
  • We had a Jayco 26BH and really liked it, but it was too small. Why no slides? It really, really changes the amount of room you have. Jayco's are built pretty good, maybe not like Airstreams. Arctic Fox also has a good reputation.
  • What are the highest quality brands?

Thanks for any input. Only familiar with Airstreams. Everything else is very much an unknown.

    25-28'
    Bunk beds
    No slide outs

  • Jayco are very much average, not terrible, not the best. But then they don't cost like the best either.
In that size, not a lot of models don't have slides though.
