- 3_tonsExplorer IIIUpdate: well I tried running with the furnace operating but for some reason the wind must have kept blowing out the pilot light...Now in the campground furnace is fine again. Go figure!

3 tons,
Wave as you go by. Cabeza de Vaca is up on 8 jax in its shed as of today. (boo-hoo)
It is supposed to get down in the teens here and a foot of snow predicted for
Friday. It was 21F this AM. It's already down to 25 right now.

Okay, you got it my friend, and I trust at these temps you're keeping the wood stove well stoked!!

jefe - 3_tonsExplorer IIIWell, thanks for all the info! Actually, I was just a bit concerned about the freezing temps and the water lines and such. So now I have a validated plan!
Thanks Again,

p.s. I too shut things down before refueling. - old_guyExploreryes old, the valve will close but the igniter will still try to ignite the burner for some time before it too will shut down, that is fact not fiction. that is what burned down one station here in my town. I learned from this guys mistake and I have always told others to not travel with their furnace or frig turned on, if you want to take the chance, do so at your own risk
- I've done it. Having a toasty warm camper in arrival at my destination was nice, and my batteries were happy to since the heat was running while my batteries were getting charged while driving.
- Glacier_DExplorer III've done it before, just remember to shut off before the fuel pump. I have forgotten to shut off before fueling and well, I am still here and no animals were injured. Shoot, even forgot to turn off the fridge too, good thing I use diesel.
Good luck and enjoy. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIINo there is no reason you can not 'travel' with furnace on, fridge on or even the water heater on.
If flame goes out......gas valve will close.
Turn it on....enjoy the heat, a cold one and wash your face in hot water :B
