I agree with this point. In my opinion, the folks that are happiest with this whole RV experience is those who are able and willing to fix the small or even fairly major stuff on their own.
Too many horror stories of folks leaving their RV at the dealer for months on end, only to get it back with poor repairs, no repairs and other issues caused by incompetent repair guys. I don't want some klutz messing around in my trailer.
That's not to say all RV repair guys are bad. There are some real craftsmen out there. In fact, from what I have seen as I winter in Arizona is that the mobile repair guys are really good, based on talking to my neighbors that have had repairs done on site.
