I always buy used and have never been burned. I always buy high quality units and try to find ones that have been lightly used. It takes a lot of looking but you will know when you see the right unit. Selection will be less so you may have to adapt to a less than perfect floor plan but that has never been a problem for us. My trailers have never been to a dealer for repair as I do all my work myself and enjoy it. If I had to pay to have stuff done I might think differently.
Over 38 years and 5 different units our cost of ownership (still own the current trailer) is about $4 per night stayed. The cost is determined as what I paid less what I sold it for. Maintenance not included. Works for us.
