Regardless of what we want, think or wish, I have yet to see any tire company advertised their LT tires for ST use.

Heck, I suppose one could even consider passenger car tires because they used them in the old days. I wouldn't begin to advise such a crazy idea but then someone will surely tell me how well they work in this or that TT application.
Be safe.
You mention the car tires being used...I have been looking at the Retro model trailers from Riverside RV's. They put Coker tires on their trailers. These are white wall automotive tires. The reason is aesthetics. The Canned Ham style of the trailer and the old school white walls give the trailers that look from years past. I guess they can't find (or it is cost-prohibitive) ST white wall tires for their trailers.
Now that said, their have been problems with these tires according to the Riverside Retro owners forum. There have been blow-outs and other problems. Some feel that it is because they ARE car tires and not Trailer tires. They say that the tires are de-rated by 10% of the capacity due to the softer sidewall and I guess there are government standard that give this reasoning as well
Copied from Forum, "Federal Motor Vehicle Standards (49 CFR 571.110 S4.2.2.2) say "When passenger car tires are installed on an MPV, truck, bus, or trailer, each tire's load rating is reduced by dividing it by 1.10..."
But the tires are still on the trailers (went and looked at one this past weekend) and for the most part the forum consensus is keep on truckin'...So there is at least one TT builder that is running car tires on their trailers as Standard Equipment. While the Retro model trailers are lighter (until you get into the larger trailers) they also run the white wall tires on their 5th wheel models. Haven't heard how that works out...not a lot of info in the formum
