It seems U-Haul has gone back to bias ply trailer tires. They're tougher when it comes to curbs, potholes and RR tracks. If they blow, they don't beat the trailer with steal belts. They simply fly apart. They're stiffer so they're more stable. On the down side, more rolling resistance and they get flat spots from sitting until they're warmed up with the next trip. Cousin has bias ply tires on his 26' travel trailer. I have bias ply tires on my boat trailer. No complaints.
