We can try to stack the odds in our favor. In my mind, the fact that LT has to pass more stringent tests give it a better chance of being a better overall product.
Second, by buying from a company that has name recognition and is a OE supplier to the automotive industry, at least hints at the idea that tire company takes quality seriously. The OEM's demand that.
Buying a no-name tire from a country known for cheating on all sorts of standards seems to me to be the real game of russian roulette.
