TomG asked why I think that anecdotes are more accurate than tabular statistics. I don't, Tom! I wish there were good stats. But as far as I can tell, there aren't. So we have to fall back on anecdotes told by our fellow RVers. Not very scientific, but what else can we do?
When dealing with a blowout and the collateral damage, the last thing I needed was one more thing to deal with.
I mean, what is the point of going thru the motions of reporting, when it will do nothing to help me now?
So I did what I think most will do. I searched for a solution that will work today and moved on.
So looking for accurate statistics is IMO, like looking for a Unicorn... They don't exist.
"Stats" can are are often SKEWED to the viewpoint of the Statistician.
Data can be left out or data can be made up to make a stat bend to the desired outcome.
In other words even fabled stats cannot be trusted.
Listen, we live in an imperfect world, we use imperfect materials, people building things are imperfect (make mistakes) and we expect perfect things built from imperfect materials and imperfect hands.
"Imperfect" cannot ever become "perfect".
