LOL that's funny since there is no such thing....the 5.3L gets the 4L60E the 6.0 and 8.1 get the 4L80/85E and there was a never an Allison installed in a Subirban.

GM has not used the 4l60 or 80 for a few yrs now. You now get a 6l90E, which is a 4.10 first gear, to a .64od IIRC. So one can have a 3.42 ra, still be overall lower than a 4l60 with 4.10's! Will nto talk about the 4.80 with 4.10s, one needs a 4.88 IIRC to equal the overall first of the the 4.60/4.10 combo.
The new 6 sp if you could get it behind you 8.1 would be a kewl option! I'd prefer it over the ally 5 sp I had in my 05 dually. Put 4.10's in the gears, 4.10 in first gear vs 3.08, a .64 knocking my freeway rpms at 62 down about 200 rpm or so.......much better for how I drive.
