I can completely agree with diesel being superior. I've owned 3 Duramaxes and am about to sell my Cummins. I hate to leave home without one! I honestly haven't heard much, until I started this post, about people being satisfied with towing a TT or heavier loads with their 6.0L.
Believe it or not, the 2500HD and the newer GMT900 2500 SUVs share pretty much everything but the frame. The diesels have the larger R&P axle but most everything that goes with the suspension are identical. The trucks have a longer leaf pack but the spring rate isn't changed. My 2500 rides like my old 2500HD did! I've done a lot of research into this and there aren't many major differences. My main concern is the power train, not the transmission as much as the engine. That's the power source to get this thing rolling and the point of contention in a lot of arguments.
