I pull about 10k with mine using 3:73 gears. Got back a few weeks ago from NC. Was in the mountains quiet a bit pulling. Performed very well, I know it's not a diesel but for a gas job it holds its own very well. Now it's tuned, so I am sure it will pull better in the rpm range and not lose speed as much do to quicker gear changing. Heck it runs so much different now with the tune. I just came back with it and can't believe how much GM has detuned this engine from the factory. It runs so much better now in my opinion. Black bear does a great job, was money well spent if u asked me. Oh. Btw diesels are not the cure all, I have pulled with them as well. You goto pay to play and it doesn't make sense in all cases to own one. If I was full timing when I retire then maybe so, but till then I went back to gas and have no plans of changing. Cause when a diesel breaks..... Not a easy repair and your wallet just got a lot lighter. Some guys I know usually take out another loan just to fix the expensive repairs that sometimes these engine occur. If not they trade them in, so a used diesel may be not so good of deal after all unless u know the owner or have the records.
