Everyone don't get me wrong, I love my 6.0L as much as I loved my diesel. IMHO, the diesel is superior as a primary tow rig IF you can stomach the extra costs associated with it. As for a daily driver, I absolutely did not like it as that. It drives fine, I just know they are built for hauling loads and I felt it was a waste for a DD. Main reason I just sold my truck. I don't tow anything but a smallish sized boat with it.
As for the 6.0L, I'm really used to the diesel just bearing down and grunting out the power, hardly downshifting and keeping speed in most any terrain. The gasser does it but with a much more noticeable effort? Constantly downshifting and losing speed.
It's definitely something I have to get used to again. I understand having to stay in the powerband, which is why the computer shifts around. I'm okay with it.
Like I tried to convey, I have read, as I am sure some of you have as well, dislike and disdain for the Chevy 6.0 and I was really trying to get to the bottom of it. The fact that a lot of you have spoken up in defense of it is amazing and well received. I hardly seem to read posts about people who were actually happy or satisfied with it. Makes me think that what I'm asking my Sub to do isn't too out of line.
