Exactly why treating a rubber roof with an occasion wash with a rubber roof cleaner and an RV rubber roof treatment following helps the rubber longevity. They are designed to put back into the rubber what Mother Nature attempts to strip away.
I've had both wood and metal tresses on my campers. I will say, my current Outback is the best design with the arched roof on metal tresses. But the actual roof material is still wood. Keep the wood dry and it will last longer than I will!
