If you're looking at 2500s be prudent and look at the 3500s as well. The difference in price will likely be minimal and the 3500 will serve you better.
All three US brands have pros and cons. I've shopped diesels twice and bought a 2500 the first go-around (should have ponied up and got the 3500 then) and most recently bought a 3500. Dodge both times.
Buy the one YOU like - you and the boss are the ones who get to enjoy it.
