wife won't go on Long camping trips due to bad ride!

Sounds to me that you just may have solved a multitude of problems!
Plan several trips at 5-8 hours away... If she stays home, it'll never be too hot or cold, too many bugs, no view, no TV, I wanna go home, etc...bla, bla!
Learn to cook and go by yourself! I mean how bad can the ride be?
My wife usually is happy to put up with it all, but if she isn't up for it, we happily part for a few days. Bless her heart! After 40 years it seems to work.
And for goodness sake learn to cook a decent meal for your self!
