There are some roads where it just can't be helped. The DOT in their infinite wisdom decided to build concrete roads with expansion joints that are at the exact right distance apart to set up a harmonic porpoising in your vehicle at a particular speed.
My DRW, empty or loaded, bucks like a wild bronco on the last 5 miles of I-490 East, and it's a nightmare between exits 39 and 40 on the NYS Thruway (I-90). Seems like the slower you go the worse it gets.
You already have some good ideas in here, but this post was what I was thinking as well. In michigan though, I think its more ****py road repair than much else that causes this, because I can change lanes and make it go away.
And I do change lanes. I'm sure other people don't like it much, but I will pick the lane that doesn't cause this until I can switch back, and I really don't care which lane that might be lol.
For routes back and forth to ohio, I have been on them enough to know where its going to happen and where it ends.
