Unless they’re older tires, the best 17s available are 3195lb cap, so the rear axle on a HD pickup is rated higher by the sticker and way higher by AAM.
On a related note, does anyone know the history of why the industry quit making heavy load rated 17” tires?
Especially since that was the go to size for over a decade, recently. They still make heavy duty 16s and there’s way less 16s on he road or at least doing heavy work.
